Some varied pictures from the past month.

I wish that I could be uploading some pictures from the high fells taken on long walks especially since we have enjoyed some pretty good weather in the past few weeks. From about last Wednesday and right through the weekend conditions were all but perfect. Anyway, the following pictures are from an assortment of locations none of which required too much use of the damaged ankle. Hopefully this limitaion to my walking may finally get sorted out. I will try to upload some more pictures at the end of April to at least keep the website going.

Mar 14th A visit to Long Meg and her Daughters, an ancient stone circle at Little Salkeld about 5 miles NE of Penrith. The hill in the distance is Blencathra.

Long Meg is about 14' high . Jean, on the left, is not that tall!

Mar 18th Skiddaw, Ullock Pike, Longside and Dodd from the little Sale Fell on the west of Bassenthwaite Lake .

Mar 21st Watching the tidal bore on the River Kent at Arnside. It's not very big but still worth a look.

Mar 22nd. The Fairfield Horseshoe from Windermere, taken while sailing.

And during the same sail a view of the pier at Waterhead with the slopes of Red Screes on the left and the road to Kirkstone Pass visible just right of centre..

Mar 24th On a slow limp up Hallin Fell from Martindale Hause. Normally a fifteen minute up and down but not today!

Mar 28th A visit to flatlands on our way down to Sussex. The Norman Castle in Norwich

And finally......A view of Norwich Cathedral from the battlements of the castle. .
