Sat Jan 30th.Once again it has been a particularly mild month though as I type these notes it is getting colder and there is snow on the fells down to around 1000'. Of course mild weather does not necessarily mean good weather in the Lake District and there has been a good deal of cloud, strong winds and rain. No change there then!! As promised below I have renewed the front page and was hoping to have a few more pictures that Jean would have taken on her walks with our friend's dog Ben. Unfortunately she slipped on a patch of mud, fell over and broke her left arm just above the wrist. So, with me still out of action, (though currently improving a little), I have only a couple of shots taken early in the month. To say the least it has not been a good year for us!!

Now, with my ankle problem taking much longer to recover than I had envisaged and the prospect of the winter months ahead I have decided to "mothball" Eyeonthelakes for the time being. So the final set of pictures will be for December of this year. I will be retaining my domain name and hopefully will eventually be able to restart the website. I wll try to keep the front page going with a single picture as and when I can with an update of progress. Finally may I wish all visitors to Eyeonthelakes a very happy 2012.

Follow this link to Asset-ICT Consultancy Ltd. who host Eyeonthelakes and who I should like to thank for their continuing help and efficient service.

A personally signed "Eyeonthelakes" CD of a selection of my walks is still available, it features more than fifty days on the hills and contains over 1000 pictures resized to 800 x 600 pixels for better viewing. The CD will cost £5 and is available from Fred Holdsworth's Bookshop on Rydal Road Ambleside. The CD is not intended as a walking guide but is just a personal record of enjoyable days on the hills.

Comments and suggestions about my website are always welcome.tony@edinboro5.freeserve.co.uk I should also be pleased to hear from you if we have met on the hills at anytime but please indicate in the subject line where or when we met.
